It’s almost the end of August and Fall is majorly on my mind. I think of like, first day of school vibes, early September as the beginning of Fall. We don’t *actually* have seasons in Southern CA so I do what I want, tbh. I’m planning to spend this weekend daydreaming/brainstorming what Fall experience I want to curate for my life. Outfits, experiences, color palettes, all of it. That may sound extra, but more & more lately I’m understanding that if you don’t plan out where you’re going, you’ll never get there.
That said, a Fall trend I’m setting my navigation toward is: Leather. Please note, when I say “leather” I mean anything that has that slick, special texture. There are so many incredible “vegan” leather options these days it isn’t necessary to do the real thing. I still do sometimes, but many of my favorite pieces are faux. Below are the main ways I’m planning to incorporate Leather this F/W, aside from the usual bags & shoes.
Pants
In the past, we’ve seen leather pants mostly as leggings, but this year they’re taking a wider stance. Think trousers and straight legs, just like the silhouettes of denim this year. I am obsessed with THESE in both colors. They were the pant of the season last year and are back just as strong. Also love THIS more trouser-like silhouette and the options HERE. Lastly, THESE are pricey, but you know if they’re AGOLDE they’re good.
Skirts
I haven’t been a fan of leather skirts in the past, I think of leather pencil skirts with pumps and a button down and want to go die in a corporate office. But this year I’m seeing a lot more leather minis, which, paired with an oversized blazer and a crop top- is absolutely the vibe. I love the selections HERE and HERE.
Jackets
In past seasons, leather jackets meant a moto jacket. I’m not totally against those, but oversized vs fitted feels more current. My favorite cut, however, is undoubtably the leather BLAZER.
