Fall Fashion 2020 – Best of Jackets and Coats

The Shacket

Welcome to the item of the season… the SHACKET. It’s a shirt, it’s a jacket, it’s fabulous. Wear layered with shorts and a crop top as we transition from hot AF Summer into Fall, or on its own as a dress in the second photo. When it gets colder this will be so cute layered with a turtleneck and scarf on top. Definitely go oversized to keep your options open for styling. Grey plaid shacket HERE, tan shacket HERE and so many cute options HERE.

Oversized Blazer

Blazers are always a Fall staple but this year they should be OVERSIZED. {Or cropped, but tbh that’s not my thing so we are sticking oversized here} They instantly elevate any look. The oversized cut looks great with knee-high boots and slip of thigh skin showing with shorts or a skirt. Can also be worn alone as a blazer dress depending on sizing. Tan houndstooth HERE, beige HERE {a great dupe for THIS Anine Bing blazer}, check blazer HERE and love all the options HERE.

Longline Trench Coat

Trench coats are a classic but this year it’s all about the fit. Slightly oversized {slightly!} and long, should hit at the knee or below. This is SUCH a great layering item that can go from Fall right into winter rain. My ultimate trench inspiration is the iconic RHW – you can see how she styles hers HERE. A broad lapel and classic tortoise detail is a must for me. The trenches above are HERE {under $120!} & HERE and I also love THESE.

Windbreaker

While we’re on the subject of RHW – she was 100% the inspo behind this pick for me. I saw Rosie wearing a cropped windbreaker, so I had to have a cropped windbreaker. She styled it HERE and it really can’t get much better. I don’t know her version but THIS ONE would work beautifully.

Pleather Weather

Pleather {Or VEGAN LEATHER as they say here in LA} is a hit this season in the form of shackets, blazers, puff sleeves, shorts, you name it. Instantly adds an edge alongside sophistication to any look. I love THIS piece and THESE.

Puff, Puff, Don’t Pass

I had to lol. Don’t pass on the puff this season! Puffer jackets have gone from oversized ski parkas with fur-trimmed hoods that look like they belong in Russia to this chic AF level. I love an off-the-shoulder puffer moment {probably because it doesn’t get warm enough in LA to actually wear a puffer the regular way} and they’re a great addition to spice up any look. This one is linked HERE and more great options HERE.
